This past semester these seven dedicated students took dual enrollment courses at Mississippi Delta Community College. DSA is extremely fortunate to provide college credit and the academic demands that come along with those courses, right across the street!
“The guys have really adjusted to the college style of learning. They are learning how to be academically more mature by communicating with their instructors, independently handling their assignments and their overall level of accountability that college requires of one. The DSA guys have always been/continue to be a great contribution to our campus. They are kind, respectful, and fun. Since they have been coming to our campus, we have yet to have one semester where an instructor DOESN’T comment on how awesome the DSA students are. This place is a “soft start” to college where they can test and see if junior college or a 4- year college is a better fit for them. Some of the guys are taking upper-level math classes like calculus and really shining, which is a true testament that these guys are getting the tools they need at DSA to take the next step with confidence.” -Katie Jones, Counselor at MDCC
“Taking classes at MDCC helped me be organized by staying on task with my work when it was supposed to be turned in. My plans after high school are to continue my education at Hinds Community College. MDCC didn’t just prepare me for graduation, but rather prepared me for my next big step in life and school.” Danny Vargas, 12th Grader

“MDCC has significantly enhanced my academic skills at DSA, providing a more challenging learning experience. After high school, I plan to attend the University of Mississippi with hopes of obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering. MDCC has prepared me for life after graduation by giving me experience in a college classroom.”Joseph Zuniga, 12th Grader
As I type this, Meagan and I are down in Ocean Springs at a Head of School retreat. One seminar was on school finances and we discussed revenues for the different independent schools in the room. Typically people say to me, "Well T.Mac, you must be a great fundraiser." But if they knew the reality of the situation, that would never come out of their mouth.

We send out a letter in November about our end-of-the-year goal, but that is the only time we ask people to participate financially. In the letter this year, we set a goal of $300,000 which was $25,000 more than last year. As we set our goal, there is no guarantee we will meet it, but as the new year approached, one gift after another kept coming in.  This has been the story every year since DSA started! Big gifts, small gifts, multiple gifts, and so on...it is truly amazing! And my answer to those who ask "why?" or "how?" - I can only say by God's grace and mercy!

We don't have the secret key to raising money, it is truly a God thing! And I am just thankful to be a part of it. With these funds, we will be able to continue to add lower grades. And the sooner we have the opportunity to equip the young men walking through our doors, the better chance those young men will become awesome husbands, fathers, employees or employers, church members, and friends.

So thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your commitment to helping us equip the young men at DSA with a Christ-centered, disciplined education.
DSA is now set up to receive donations through stock transfer!
