Congratulations to 2023 Valedictorian Adrian Escudero who just started Base Camp Coding Academy in Water Valley, MS!

What are you most excited about Base Camp? I had the opportunity to attend the open house on May 17th, and from the looks and from what I’ve heard of it, it’ll be a challenge, but a fun one. I’m excited to gain new skills and see how my current experience in coding will play out. We’re going to learn a whole bunch of programming languages and end up making our own kind of projects. The policies are strict in the class and out of it.

What is your plan after Base Camp? After Base Camp, I want to still pursue my education in Computer Science at Mississippi State University.

How do you believe DSA prepared you academically & spiritually? DSA made me work for the grades I wanted, and a lot of the time, it wasn’t fun. The school has provided me with a better education than most other schools can offer especially in spiritual knowledge. Delta Streets helped me know God more and moved my heart to pursue Him as well.

What will you miss about DSA & which teacher impacted your character? I will miss most the years I had playing soccer with all my older and younger friends and teammates. Winning a state championship with those guys has been a huge accomplishment. Mr. Philip Green gave me the greatest impact in my character. His classes were difficult at times so I had to learn to listen and be serious. I’ve had him in sciences, Bible, histories, and plenty of other classes, so I learned almost everything from the great man that is Mr. Green.
We're thrilled to welcome Bo Giordano back to DSA as Head Football Coach!

"I decided to come back to Delta Streets after a lot of thinking and prayer because Greenwood, and more specifically DSA, just feels like home. I really look forward to reconnecting with some of the guys who were at DSA two years ago, and I'm ready to meet some new faces. I look forward to see how the Lord uses me  to lead these young men to become the guys they are supposed to be." -Bo Giordano
Another year finished! Praise the Lord for His provisions!!

We had the privilege of watching seven young men walk across the gym floor and receive their diplomas. You could feel the excitement in the air. Families, friends, and staff members all in one place to celebrate the seniors finishing one stage of life and moving on to the next. The seniors were adamant about having graduation in the new gym, which was a phenomenal decision! I was worried it would feel too big and empty, but man was I wrong.

Adrian Escudero, our 2023 valedictorian, did a great job when he spoke. He hit on all different aspects of what it was like going to school at DSA. He was funny and real, and challenged the seniors to continue to learn and put into practice what they have learned while at DSA.

His soccer coach, Connor Altman, gave the commencement speech. I hope to have it transcribed and share with y'all at a later date. He had everyone laughing and crying, while also sharing the Gospel in its purest form. If you have never been to a DSA graduation, I would highly recommend it!

The one thing that both Adrian and Coach Altman touched on was our mission statement. They both actually recited it verbatim, not knowing the other was going to say it as well. My hope is that not only we recite it, but in 10-15 years, we look back and see that DSA was successful in equipping these seven men by providing a Christ centered, disciplined education. To God be the glory!
DSA is now set up to receive donations through stock transfer!
