2024 Graduate Cristian Ledesma is now helping out with our soccer team while studying kinesiology at Mississippi State!

What have you been up to since graduation last year? I’m attending Mississippi State University, majoring in kinesiology with a concentration in physical activity. In my free time, I work at Rozier Construction.

Why did you decide to get involved with the soccer team? Because I love not only soccer, but the school as well and wanted to still be a part of it. I also plan on being some kind of coach in soccer and wanted to get a head start.

How do you motivate/encourage the guys? I think already knowing most of the guys helps a ton with the motivational aspect of the game. I know what they bring to the table so I try to bring it out of them by talking to them more as a friend than a coach.

What is your plan in the next 5-10 years? My plan is to graduate from Mississippi State and might change majors to construction management, but still pondering it. I want to be a project manager at a construction company and I also want to help out the soccer team at DSA or any other soccer programs.

How do you think DSA prepared you for life after high school? DSA prepared me in a variety of ways. They taught me to be respectful to everybody, be well-spoken, disciplined, and most importantly be a man of God.

Meet Jonathan Jimenez, 10th Grader
How long have you played soccer at DSA? For four years - ever since I've been a student here. My first year here was when we won the State Championship.

How's it been to have Cristian back on campus? It's been fun having Cristian come back and help with the team. He helps during warm ups and with coaching.

List ways you've improved in soccer over the years. I've gotten faster, and my dribbling and ball control have improved.

Describe how Coach Altman motivates the team as Head Coach. He encourages us, pushes us to keep going in the games even when we're losing, and pushes us to keep trying.
As we closed out 2024, we went out with a bang on the fundraising side of things!

I am always so encouraged and humbled by the generosity of so many from all over the nation. When we set the goal for $300,000, I was ready mentally to come up $25,000-$50,000 short. And not only did we reach the goal, we had $100,000+ come in. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

As we continue to add lower grades, these funds are definitely needed. And to see God meet the needs through donors like yourself, it is amazing. I am still trying to wrap my head around 2nd and 3rd graders running around the school next year! It is going to be a ton of fun, and the foundation both spiritually and academically the boys will build upon will be priceless.

So THANK YOU for your prayers and support as we continue to equip young men through a Christ-centered disciplined education.
DSA is now set up to receive donations through stock transfer!
